Twenty-two people including Senior High School Students are said to be severely injured after a Trotro vehicle collided with two other vehicles this morning at Gomoa Okyereko on the Kasoa - Winneba Highway in the Central region.

An eyewitness who narrated the story to Central Regional SN24 News Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful said a Renault Private Vehicle, 3 passengers on board, with registration number AS-286-S from Winneba which was heading towards Accra was overtaking some other cars and suddenly, collided with Toyota Vitz Saloon Car 3 people onboard, with registration number GW -1808 - 21 which was also directly followed by the Toyota Hiace Commercial Vehicle (Trotro) with registration number GT 5273 – 21 all from Accra.

The Trotro driver had no other option than to also collide with the two vehicles.

The students among other passengers numbering 15 excluding the driver were said to have onboard the Trotro from Ashaiman.

An eyewitness says no one died on the spot but the students, drivers, and other passengers sustained severe injuries and were sent to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.

The Gomoa Dominase District Police Commander, DSP David Osei Fofie in an exclusive interview with SN24 News confirmed the accident, he revealed that the victims were responding to treatment at the aforementioned hospital.

He however advised drivers to be circumspect on the Kasoa Winneba Highway since it's more than Dangerous.
