The lives of over two hundred  and fourteen (214) students at the Sefwi Kwamebikrom District Authority (D/A) Junior High School (JHS) A in the
Bia West District of the Western North Region is in danger as they study under deathtrap classrooms, Soiree News can authoritatively report.

Portions of the JHS building have collapsed but students are forced to study under the deathtrap.

The problem of the school is not only limited to the deplorable nature of classrooms but a toilet facility which was built many years ago is weak and this has compelled students to defecate in a nearby bush, a situation that is dangerous to their lives.

Soiree News reporter, Freeman Koryekpor Awlesu in his visit to the school was told that students are sometimes forced to stay at home when there is a heavy downpour.

Headteacher of the School Mr. Kobby Jones in an interview stated that several petitions have been sent to the Bia West District Assembly, the Office of the Member of Parliament (MP), and the Ghana Education Service but no solutions have been offered.

Due to the bad state of the school parents stormed the Sefwi Kwamebikrom District Authority (D/A) Junior High School a couple of days ago to retrieve their wards for a different school.

The aggrieved parents however gave the school's authorities and government a one-week ultimatum to fix the problem parents else they will burn it down because they believe the deathtrap facility may one day collapse and kill their wards.

However, the bad situation remains unsolved therefore the Sefwi Kwamebikrom District Authority (D/A) Junior High School (JHS) A authorities are appealing to President Akufo-Addo to hurriedly fix the problem to prevent any accident.
