President of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in the nineteen Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Bar Augustine Amechi has given reasons Igbos should be allowed to produce the next president in 2023.

Barr. Amechi said that the president of Igbo extraction will unite Nigeria against the fear of breakup and end the agitation of the Biafra Republic in 2023.

The Ohaneze President made this known while speaking to newsmen in Abuja at a reception organised by the parent body of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in honour of its new executives led by Amb. George Obiozo.

He stated: “The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in the nineteen Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) held a meeting in Niger State some days ago and called for the president of Igbo extraction, to give us a chance to produce the next president in 2023.

''Others have tried and we believe we have the medial touch. A president of Igbo extraction will unite Nigeria.

“If you allow an Igbo man to rule Nigeria, it will end the agitation for Biafra and restructuring.”

Barr. Amechi admonished Nigerians to support the actualisation of the Igbo presidency in 2023, adding that this chance will give Igbos the sense of belonging and the belief in one Nigeria.

“I appeal to other zones to give Igbos a chance and not be afraid. If an Igbo man rules Nigeria, it will prosper.

Amechi lamented that no Igbo man has been fully reintegrated in the scheme of affairs since after the Nigerian civil war.

He added: “The presidency to the South East will give the Igbos a sense of belonging and recognition that they belong and believe in Nigeria as one indivisible country.”
