The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season has been officially called-off by the FA Congress at its Extra Ordinary Congress held to elect a new president to lead football in the country.

The 2017/18 season was brought to an abrupt stop following a documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas an investigative journalist which exposed corruption and breaches of FIFA code of conduct by officials and referees.

The documentary caught top officials and referees which led the government of Ghana putting a ban on all football related activities in the country leading to the introduction of the Ghana Football Normalizations Committee set up by FIFA, CAF and the Government of Ghana.
