According to the members of the driver union, the current increase in prices of fuel over the period is having significant effects on their profitability hence their decision to increase the transportation feres 20% which will take effect very soon.

Membership of the Private Commercial Road Transport Operators (PCRTO) in the country has launched a blistering attack on the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for not taking proper measures to find a solution to the rampant increase in the petroleum product prices in the country.
According to the members of the driver union, the current increase in prices of fuel over the period is having significant effects on their profitability hence their decision to increase the transportation feres 20% which will take effect very soon.
Addressing a press conference in Accra today, they pointed out that they have shielded their passengers from paying more, but unfortunately they have reached their maximum. 
Addressed by the leaders in the persons of International Drivers and Road Transport Union Secretary Asonaba Nana Wiredu, Public Relations Officer of the Concerned Drivers Association, Mr. David Agboado, Public Relations Officer for True Drivers Union,
Yaw Barima, and Chairman for Concerned Drivers Association, Paa Willie, ted that after several meetings with our mother body and other stakeholders, we drew the curtains on increasing the transport fares by 20%. 
"We buy this release cautioning all drivers to abide by the 20% and to add more. 
"We also plead with the general public to cooperate with us during these trying times and mismanagement of the economy by this government," they stressed.
