The 2021 BECE has recorded various "hiccups” across the country. In the Effutu Municipality, a little over 20 girls are said to be pregnant.

This was revealed when the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive and the Effutu Municipal Director of Education visited the examination centers in Effutu.

The Effutu MCE, Alhaji Zubeiru Kasim, toured the centers and urged candidates not to entertain fear, but write the exams with confidence and come out with flying colors so they can enjoy the free Senior High School policy by President Akufo-Addo.

A total number of 1,758 candidates made up of 876 boys and 882 girls were expected to write the exams at centers ‘A’ and ‘B’ in Winneba. However, about 6 of the candidates were absent. The supervisors at the two centers could not assign reasons for the absenteeism.

Effutu Municipal Director of Education, Judith Mabel Micah, advised the candidates not to indulge in any examination malpractice. She also encouraged the candidates to forge ahead despite personal challenges.
