Two people have been confirmed dead whiles11 are in critical condition in a gory accident at Ekumfi Esaakyire on Winneba-Cape Coast High way.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning around 6:20 am between a Toyota Fish with registration number CR-748-17 and a Sprinter bus with registration number GT-5860-20.

Report revealed that the Toyota was fully loaded with passengers from Accra heading towards Cape Coast and the Sprinter bus was also from Mankessim to Accra. They collided on a sharp curve at Ekumfi Esaakyire in the Ekumfi District when the Toyota fish with a top speed overtook the Sprinter.

The driver and a passenger who was occupying the front seat of the Toyota fish died on the way to the Winneba Trauma Hospital.

Speaking to an eyewitness, she told Soireenews correspondent that the Toyota Fish driver should be blamed for overtaking on a curve at a sharp speed.

Meanwhile, Speaking to the media, the Mankessim MTTU station officer Chief Inspector Akanya further advised drivers to take caution when driving. He advised drivers to follow the safety driving regulations to safeguard lives and halt taking risks on the road.

Hee told Soireenews that the Police have now lodged an investigation into the matter and the deceased have been deposited at the Winneba Trauma and Special Hospital Mortuary for Presentation and identification.
