Ghana has witnessed recent spikes in COVID-19 cases despite earlier predictions of ‘Infection rate peak’.

Currently, the country's COVID-19 case count stands at 41,212, with 215 mortalities.

Due to this, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has emphasized the need to report/detect cases early, in the bid to reduce mortalities, and prevent further community spread.

The Director-General of GHS, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye said, although the majority of Ghana’s COVID-19 infections are asymptomatic (69%), a significant percentage (31%) exhibit certain symptoms after taking ill.
