The Sunyani Municipal COVID-19 taskforce has arrested 10 people for failing to wear nose masks.

The task force which is to ensure strict compliance with the safety protocols intensified their exercise months after halting their operations.

DSP Johann Nartey, leader of the task force told Soiree News, that though there are recalcitrant individuals who are failing to adhere to calls on wearing nose masks, however, the education has gone down well with the majority of Sunyani residents.

He is therefore calling for all inclusion in ensuring strict adherence to the COVID-19 safety protocols.

The government as part of efforts in curtailing the spread of the COVID-19 virus instructed the security agencies to institute a task force to ensure strict adherence to the safety protocols.

Earlier after the institution of the taskforces at all levels of the security agencies across the country, defaulters were being lashed or being asked to clean streets and gutters until the passing into law the COVI-19 bill which states seek for defaulters to pay not less than GHC12, 000 or face a jail sentence of not less than six months.
