Zinedine Zidane has revealed the 19-man squad that will travel to Valencia to take on Levante on Saturday night, with the absences of Rodrygo GoesGareth Bale and Luka Jovic standing out.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Brahim Diaz and Nacho Fernandez will not face Paco Lopez's charges either, while Mariano Diaz and Marco Asensio remain out through injury.

From the squad that faced Celta Vigo last weekend, a game Real Madrid drew 2-2, Lucas Vazquez and James Rodriguez are the two players who have returned to the fold.

With one eye on Wednesday night's last-16 tie against Manchester City in the Champions LeagueZidane has opted to go with almost all of his first-team regulars, aside from Bale, whose season has been a bit of a mystery.

The reason for this absence, however, could be because both he and Jovic were suffering from gastroenteritis on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Nacho has gone four games without being named in the squad, following his decisive goal in the 1-0 win away at Real Valladolid on January 26.

The case of Rodrygo has more substance, though. The Brazilian has not been in the squad for a LaLiga Santander match in a month, having gone four matchdays without being named in the 18.

Vinicius Junior has overtaken his compatriot in the pecking order, with Rodrygo having played just 14 minutes in February, which came in the Copa del Rey final defeat to Real Sociedad (a game where he scored).
