Ghanaian gospel singer, Eric Jeshrun has disclosed that he changed his name due to popular demand.

He was formerly widely known 'Jeshurun Okyere' but has now said he changed his name due to the difficulties his fans were having when trying to access his videos and songs online.

The Yahweh Victory chant' hitmaker explained that although his birth names, which are also on his official passport, are "Eric Jeshurun Okyere", yet fans who have supported him from day one know him as "Eric Jeshrun".

He told Okay FM's Abeiku Santana on Ekwanso Dwodwoo that he changed his name to "Eric Jeshrun" removing the extra letter U from Jeshurun and combining it with Eric to allow his day one fan to easily access his content online.

The gospel artiste added that it was necessary to make this shift in terms of brand positioning as he was already getting negative feedback from his customers over the name issue.

Eric Jeshrun is the convener of one of Ghana's biggest worship gatherings in the name of "August Worship" which has featured many local and international acts like Nathaniel Bassey, Preye Odede, Joe Mettle, Joe Beecham, Victoria Orenze. 

His music and concerts have won several awards and nominations at the African Gospel Music Awards UK, VGMAs, Ghana Music Awards UK among others.
