Vodafone Ghana will begin a restructuring exercise from October according to Mr Gayheart Mensah, the external Affairs Director of the Company.

The decision taken by the management is to position the company on new heights in order to remain active and provide improved service to customers. Jobs have been affected leading to a severance of 100 staff and administrators in the Telecommunication Network.

“The restructuring involves consolidation and alignment of various roles in the organization. The aim is to improve the various points at which Vodafone touches its customers, streamline the go-to-market approach and position the company to take advantage of new opportunities in the industry"

Mr. Mensah disclosed that certain roles in the organisation will be affected yet the Company will decently deal with lay-off employees in accordance with the Labor Laws of the Nation.

"The exercise will have implications for some roles in the organization. Vodafone assures that employees in the impacted roles will be treated with respect and decency and in accordance with the country's labor laws and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) of the company," Mr. Mensah added.

Although some of the affected staff and management have agreed on the severance packages yet a section of workers are not happy on how the company has 'amputated' them from its affairs.
