Adams celebrate goal.

RB Leipzig are the 32nd team to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

It took an 88-minute strike from Tyler Adams to hand Leipzig the advance ticket into the next round of the Champions League tournament.

The two teams were stalemate in the first half but the decider was drawn in the second half with much determination.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side opened the scores 15 minutes after the break through Dani Olmo. It was a brilliant switch from left to right on the pitch. A cross was waved in from Sabitizer for Olmo who was unmarked in the Atletico box. He headed it brilliantly past Oblak into the far corner to give Leipzig the lead.

Diego Simeone’s tactical switch brought Joao Felix for Hereira eight minutes after the goal. The Portuguese impact earned him a penalty four minutes later after Klostermann fouled him in the box.

Both sides battled for the winner but it was all RB Leipzig who had much to show with their intensity and passion.

Leipzig's incisive passing made the difference again as Sabitzer sent Angeliño charging towards the penalty area to the left of center with a first-time reverse pass in the middle of the Atleti half.

He caught a low ball back into the path of Adams, centrally placed just outside the penalty area, and his low-first time shot was deflected beyond the stranded Oblak.
