Doja Cat has spoken out about being diagnosed with COVID-19. The rapper says she is feeling better now, but experienced four days of coronavirus symptoms.

“I got COVID," she said on Friday (July 24), relaxing at home in a leopard-print get-up while being interviewed over video with the U.K.'s Capital XTRA. "Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates, and I don’t know how I got it but I got it."

"I’m OK now. It was a four-day symptom freak-out but I’m fine now," she added.

In March, Doja Cat had posted a video on Instagram addressing the coronavirus. "B----, I'm not scared of a coronavirus," she said at the time. "It's a flu."

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Doja Cat began making and releasing music on SoundCloud when she was a teenager. She signed a joint record deal with RCA Records and Kemosabe Records at the age of 17 and subsequently released her debut extended play, Purrr!, in 2014.

In March 2020, Doja Cat claimed on Instagram live that COVID-19 was only a "flu" and that she was not scared of it, mocking people concerned with the pandemic. However, in a July interview with Capital XTRA's breakfast program, she has now revealed that she was diagnosed with the virus but has since recovered after a "four day symptom freak".

She released her debut studio album, Amala, in 2018, followed by a deluxe repackage in 2019, which included the singles "Tia Tamera" and "Juicy". Her second studio album, Hot Pink (2019), reached the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and contains the number one single "Say So".
