Timo Werner has admitted that he is desperate to be part of the new phase at Chelsea where he would win trophies for the club and be remembered as a Chelsea legend.

The German knows much about icons like Drogba, Petr Cech, and current manager, Lampard who took Chelsea high on their shoulder by exhibiting magical performances on the field and won numerous accolades to put the Blues on the map of World football. He spoke that he just wants to create a better name for the club therefore their inspiration is a motivation to guide him through the journey.

"I know of the players before when they won the Champions League with Drogba, with my new manager Frank Lampard, Petr Cech as the technical advisor,” Werner told Chelsea TV.

"It is like a little dream for me but I want to become, not the same player like them, but I want to be part of a new era here so I will play to try to give my best."

The 24-year old begun pre-season with the Chelsea on Monday having watched Chelsea clinch Champions League spot by beating their 2-0 beating Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final Premier League game.

The 23-year old, when asked about the current project of Lampard, revealed that he made the decision to play at Stamford Bridge due to Lampard’s assurance to guide him to become who he wants to be in the Premier League.

"He (Lampard) was the main point," he added. "We talked a lot about things like system, like how he wants to play and sees me playing, and how the system fits to me.

"He is a really nice guy who not only told me what he wants from me as a player because he wants to help me as a guy. He knows me now a little bit better and it fits very good between us and now I am happy to be here."
