ASP Godwin Ahianyo pleaded to eyewitnesses who are in possession of materials (photo or video) that can support the investigation to make them available to help bring the perpetrators to books.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has denied claims that links three suspected Police officers in the murder of the late Kwabena Tweneboah in relation to assigned officers of operation COVID safety.

According to the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the suspected officers works at the Visibility Headquarters at Suame Roundabout and were on night patrol when the event occurred.

Briefing the press on the case on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, ASP Godwin Ahianyo informed that the deceased, Kwabena Tweneboah based on the report made by the policemen was caught smoking weed and took to his heels when they spotted him.

“He was arrested and as he was transported, the deceased fell from the car and had injured his head,” he updated.

ASP further narrated that the suspect was taken to the Gary Marvin Hospital at Kotwi for treatment but due to the serious nature of the accident, he was transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where he met his sudden death.

“The report of the officers and the family are contradicting therefore the Regional Commander has employed investigators on the case,” he assured.

The 33-year-old left behind a wife and three children.
