Ghanaian actress, Akuapem Poloo, who has recently been caught in a whirlwind of controversies after she decided to show her "mother's love" to her child by posing for birthday pictures naked has debunked the rumors that she had been arrested by the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

After Ghanaians heavily criticized her for the unsavory way she presented herself and her son, Akuapem Poloo decided to take down the photo (although the picture can still be found on her Instagram page).

Rumors were quick to spread that she took the photo down because a Child’s Right International, had reported Akuapem Poloo to the police, that a nude photo she posted which had her son in it was a violation of the welfare of the child, and an abuse to the privacy and dignity of the child.

The actress has now trashed those rumors. She explained that she took the photo down from her other pages out of respect for the people who personally messaged for her own good.

“No one has invited me but I decided to pull down the picture because of the respect I have for those who called. I was not under pressure from anyone to pull the picture down but I did it out of respect,"

She uploaded photos of American celebrities like Ciara to justify her decision to show her "mother's love" to her child that way. Pointing out that Ghanaians are just too underdeveloped to understand the concept.

“This is a powerful message I want Ghanaians to be talking about and not my nude picture. What is wrong with a nude picture? My son has seen my nakedness all these years so what is wrong with it if I am naked in front of him now?”

She went on to say that Ghanaians should shift their priorities unto the right things in a video that she uploaded on her Instagram page. She revealed that she was just trying to send an artistic message.

“Whatever I post has an artistic impression. I’m not trying to post porn on my page, I can’t do porn with my son. I even bathe with my son. He’s my son, I bathe him, we bathe together always,”

Efia Odo defended her by claiming that Ghanaians are always too hasty to criticize.

“Not even that deep. When our mothers were putting ginger in our vaginas and assholes dierr they didn’t intervene. Straight-up bullshit! She didn’t endanger her child in any shape or form. Go and arrest fathers who are impregnating their children and rapists. Go and arrest people who physically abuse their children over not getting good grades etc. Get y’all damn priorities straight!”
