Sir John was the first to criticize my election in 2015 - Hon Francisca Oteng Mensah
The MP spoke of her relationship with the late CEO of the Forestry Commission as worthwhile.

The Member of Parliament of Kwabre East Constituency, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah has conversed her intimate relationship with the late Sir John narrating that the former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party was the first to criticize her election after the 2015 primaries in the constituency.
She continued that once she was voted to parliament in the general elections, the broken relationship was mended to the best for the progress of her constituents.
“Sir John was the first to criticize my election when I won the primaries in 2015,” Hon. Francisca Oteng told Soireenews.
“We became the best of friends afterward and he later regarded me as his niece. There is no single day you will enter his office and leave the same. He was a teacher and affected us with his exposure and experience in politics. I learn a lot when I am with him and sometimes overspend my time anytime I pay a visit,” she added.

Hon. Francisca who went unopposed in the just-ended New Patriotic Party primaries identified the late Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie as a man of valor and accomplishment. She admitted that he played a key role in some of the projects undertaken in the Municipality and her political life as well.
“I visited him some time because of a project we needed to embark here (Kwabre East). Personally, we toured one Ministry to the other to make sure everything was processed. He was always open to our pleas and attended to us anytime. Our relationship became stronger and stronger and at a point in time, whenever I am facing any challenge, he was always the first person I call unto,” she said.
“Our rough relationship at the beginning of the entire journey was mended to one of the best and it takes people of proficiency to effect that. It’s sad for such to happen in a peak moment like this. We are hoping to overcome this moment as we stand with the family with our deepest sympathy,” she added.
“We all cannot accept the fact that our uncle, Sir John is deceased,” she ended.
