Sir John Made Ghanaian Politics Interesting - Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the late former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie as an ‘intriguing’ politician whose demise is a loss to all Ghanaians.

According to Mahama, the late Forestry Commission boss, popularly known as Sir John made Ghanaian Politics interesting.

Mr Mahama in a post on Facebook Thursday, July 2, 2020, described Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly called 'Sir John' as "a feisty and intriguing politician who brought lots of interesting moments to our political discourse.”

Sir John died on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after a short illness.

He tested positive for Covid-19 and died while undergoing treatment at the ICU of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Mr Mahama commiserated with Sir John's family, saying “My condolences to the family of our dear brother, and my good friend, Sir John, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie.”

“I also extend my condolences to the entire New Patriotic Party (NPP) family for this painful loss,” he added.
