Ghanaian artiste, Kuami Eugene has revealed that rap God Sarkodie has not called him to congratulate him after he defeated him at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in the highly contested Artiste of the Year category.

According to Kuami Eugene, he does not expect Sarkodie to contact him because he might not be very happy that a "small boy" like him defeated him.

He made this known in an interview with Doreen Avio and Mercury Quaye on Cruise Control on Hitz FM. He conceded that he knows Sarkodie will never call because he always respects his space.

“I wasn’t expecting Sarkodie to call me because maybe he respects his space so much not to call a young boy like me to say ‘Kuami, congratulations’.

“Maybe its because he was part of that category and he has his own thoughts and mindset about this whole thing. Even if calls and says ‘congratulations to Kuami’, I would say ‘thank you so much’ and be super happy because it is Sarkodie.

“But then again, it is not by force. It is not by force for Sarkodie to call to congratulate me just to make amends for what people might be saying. I am not saying Sarkodie should forcefully congratulate me.

“He is not obligated to do that".

He then pointed out that a lot of his colleagues in the industry have reached out to him since he received the awards.

“Medikal, Sista Afia, Kidi, Adina, and Krymi were all at my appreciation party” he revealed.

Kuami Eugene received the biggest possible crown at the 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when he has awarded the Artiste of the Year over Sarkodie, Medikal, Kofi Kinataa, and Diana Hamilton.
