Police Officer with Counter-Terrorism Found dead at Home with Gunshot Wound

Ghana Police has launched investigations into the murder of a police officer with the Counter-Terrorism Directorate, who was found dead in his home at Abeka Lapaz.

In a post on Facebook, the Police Service said the Officer, identified as Abdul Rashid, was found with gunshot wounds, in an incident believed to have occurred on Sunday, 19 July 2020.

“The incident which occurred on Sunday, July 19, is under investigation, to unravel the circumstances leading to his death and who killed him,” the police said.

According to the Service, the pistol, which is believed to have been used is in their custody.

The sister of the deceased, Shakira Nasir who resides with the deceased and was present at the time of the incident is also in police custody, assisting with investigations.
