The father of Ghanaian artiste, Patapaa, has come out to confirm that his son is sick but has not been poisoned.

It was earlier reported that Patapaa had been hospitalized due to food poisoning as a video of him looking frail on a hospital bed went viral. It was speculated that he was poisoned when he went out with his friends to a local pub.

Mr. Kwesi Amoah admitted that his son has been sick for weeks and has been in a local hospital receiving treatment from the unnamed ailment.

“It is a small hospital and he went there for first aid. He couldn’t even drive. Though there is a government hospital, people don’t like going there. It is not poison, he is sick. It is not confirmed but he is not well for almost two weeks now.” He said.

His management also corroborated Patapaa's father's claims that the news of their artiste being poisoned has been fabricated. 

The released a statement to debunk the news.

"The public is hereby informed that the release is false and misleading. The artiste was hospitalized but has nothing to do with food poisoning. Patapaa Amisty is doing fine and recovering speedily from a minor illness."

"Air cleared, the management wishes to inform the 'Sojas' and the general public to be relieved and encouraged to keep praying for the team so nothing like such should happen in our future endeavors," it wrote.
