The Gender Ambassador and Musician, Akua Afriyie has cautioned parents to define their roles in such a challenging time by directing their children from roaming about in towns without any tangible reason.

According to the founder of the Adowa Gospel Hemaa production, even though government has lifted the three weeks lockdown yet the possibility of contracting the coronavirus is still extreme hence the need for guardians to be dutiful towards their wards.

“I wish to urge all parents and elders of our various areas to take care and control their children and the youngsters to stop roaming in town without any tangible reason and stay at home.

“Even though the lockdown has been lifted yet the virus has not been cured,” she added.

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday ended the three-week partial lockdown enforced in some COVID-19 hotspot areas in the country, necessitated by the spread of the disease.

The news was met with mixed reactions by citizens with some expressing non-support towards the president’s decision.

With the rate at which the virus spreads and Ghanaians failure to observe the social distancing order which play a key role in constraining the coronavirus, majority of Ghanaians were expecting an extension especially when the recorded cases increased to 1,154.
