Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has declared that there will be a dusk to dawn curfew in the state from 10 pm on Wednesday, September 30 to 6 am on Thursday, October 1.

A statement posted on the Twitter handle of the state government, @OGSGOfficial, indicated that the curfew will be active again on Thursday night, starting from 10 pm to 6 am on Friday, October 2.

The statement reads: "There will be a curfew in Ogun State, effective tonight, 30th September 2020 from 10:00 pm to tomorrow morning, 1st October at 06:00 am.

"This curfew will again be effective tomorrow at the same time, from 10:00 pm to 06:00 am on Friday, 2nd October.

"Commercial motorcycles (popularly called Okada) will not operate on all major roads in Ogun State from 10:00 pm tonight, Wednesday, 30th September 2020 all through to 06:00 am on Friday, 2nd October.

"Commercial buses will not operate in Ogun State from 10:00 pm tonight, Wednesday, 30th September all through to 06:00 am on Friday, 2nd October.

"Taxi cabs may operate outside the 10 pm-6 am curfew.

In other words, they will convey not more than 3 passengers at once between 06:00 am (morning) and 10:00 pm (night) on Thursday, 1st October and on Friday, the 2nd.

Though the state government did not give reasons for the curfew, Nigerian Tribune reported that it might not be unconnected with security reports and the fact that some groups are planning to hold a rally on October 1.
