Nigerian Kingpin Senator Buruji Kashamu dies of the COVID-19

Nigerian politician, Buruji Kashamu, has been confirmed to have died at the First Cardiology Consultants hospital inside Lagos.

His close friend Senator Ben Murray Bruce announced the death late Saturday evening. The 62-year-old was announced dead from the deadly Covid-19.

Until his death, he served as a representative of Ogun East in the 8th National Assembly. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government when he was in the senate. He was the Ogun State governorship election candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party before he lost to Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress.

 He was the chairman of the Nigeria opposition party People's Democratic Party, PDP for Ogun State as he simultaneously took charge of the Organization and Mobilization Committee of the PDP for the southwest zone of Nigeria.

Nigerian Powerhouses were quick to pour in their condolences. 

 

 

 


Kashamu was born in Ogun State, Nigeria on 19 May 1958.

Kashamu started his education at the Ansarudeen Primary School, Ijebu Igbo before he left in 1972 to complete his primary school education at St. John Modern School, Lagos.
