Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not been “flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment”, Director of Communications of the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin snubbed reports.

According to him, the president of Ghana is at the presidential villa undergoing a 14-days self-quarantine as communicated earlier by the office.

A story published by the Herald Newspaper exposed that Nana Addo has been airlifted out of the country to seek medication after been infected with coronavirus.

 

 

‘Kindly disregard the FALSE STORY published by the Herald Newspaper to the effect that the president has been flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment.

“It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination,” the statement revealed.

“The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure in compliance with COVID-19 protocols,” it added.

The Office of the President issued a statement on Saturday, July 4, 2020, that Nana Addo Dankwa has chosen to undergo 14-day self-isolation after one person within his close circle tested positive with COVID-19 protocols.

 

 

“On the advice of doctors, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is from today, July 4, 2020, taking a fourteen (14) day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with COVID-19 protocols

“The President has elected to do so after at least one person within his close circle tested positive for COVID-19 today.

“he has, as of today tested negative, but has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of caution, “it added.
