Jorge Messi is reported to have informed Barcelona that his son will not play for the Blaugranas again.

The Argentine’s father met with club president, Josep Bartomeu, fellow director, Javier Bordas, and Rodrigo Messi, Leo’s brother and adviser on Wednesday to discuss the future of the Bara captain but an agreement was not reached following the club’s desire to keep the 33-year old at Camp Nou.

Messi’s representatives interpreted to the Barca delegates that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has lost interest playing at Camp Nou hence his decision to quit the club.

Messi is in the final stage of his contract and has a release clause of 700m euros, a clause reminded to the player’s reps and the need to fulfill it before any move.
