MP for Atwima Nwabiagya North donates GH₵10,000 Common Fund to support community hospital building
Hon. Benito Owusu Bio - Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resource

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio has acknowledged the patriotism demonstrated by the Fufuman Nkabom Kuo in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District to build a hospital to foster the healthcare of inhabitants at Fufuo and its surrounding towns.

He called on prosperous residents within and outside the country to exhibit such acts of devotion towards their various communities rather than heaping all progressive burden on the government.

Hon. Benito took the opportunity to assist the hospital construction with a GH₵10,000 Common Fund.

The Member of Parliament was at the site of construction on Sunday, May 31, 2020, to inspect ongoing works.

The building when completed will comprise a consulting room, dressing injection, delivery room, dispensary, waiting area, laboratory, maternity ward, female ward, storeroom, male and female changing, children’s ward, terrace, washroom, and many others.

The Fufuman Nkabom Kuo is an association of some Fufuo residents abroad who represent the interest of the community by satisfying the welfare of the people through developmental projects and many others.

Briefing the press, the MP advised residents to be involved in works on the project and encouraged other residents abroad to support their needy communities in Ghana to empower government’s efforts through sustainable growth.

“We must start something before government can decide to help us. I promised during the sod-cutting ceremony that when you commence works on this project, I would also do my possible best to help you. I am here with an amount of GH₵10,000 cedis from the Common Fund to help this project be a benefit,” he said.

“This is what we expect from worthy men in communities. Unions in the Nwabiagya District must practice this selfless act to help better the community,” he added.

The President of the Fufuman Nkabom Kuo, Nana Yaw Ato Dankwa, stated that their reason for coming out with such a motive is to impact lives by making available needed infrastructures in the community and make Fufuo an independent town in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

“Our country is in a dependent state so we came together and have planned to build a hospital for our community. Gone were the days when this town had nothing to boast of. Today, it is our responsibility to transform our community and must do whatever is possible to give the people something precious to claim considering our current status.

"Although we have been locked down from traveling back, yet this is a time to define our corporate responsibilities towards the Fufuo community. We are therefore pleading unto each one in this community to get involved to execute our goals," he said

He called on individuals whose relatives are seeking greener pastures abroad to inform them of the progressive agenda and the need to support the course.

“Families in the community who have their relatives abroad can communicate and update them on the undertaking and they can also come and support us to make this a success,” he said.

“We are also grateful to Hon. Benito Owusu Bio for his support, Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources. We believe he will win the next term to help us complete this job,” he added.
