Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas has been crowned the most beautiful girl in Nigeria defeating 36 contestants.

Nyekachi Douglas, 21-year-old Nigerian model based in the United States of America, has emerged the 2019 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.

However, Miss Douglas has become the representative of Nigeria at the Miss World 2019 pageantry scheduled to hold at the ExCel London in the United Kingdom, on Saturday, December 14, 2019 after her win.

Miss Rivers state, Nyekachi Douglas was crowned the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2019 at the 32nd edition held in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.

The beauty pageant is organised yearly by Silverbird MBGN.

 

 

Nyekachi, 21 years old was picked by the A-list judges as the winner in the event staged live at the Gabriel Okara Cultural centre. She expresses surprise she won.

“I couldn’t believe it.I want to thank everyone specially for supporting me up to this point. I love you guys”, she wrote.

Nyekachi hails from Ibaa in Emohua LGA of Rivers state.

The last Rivers State Girl to win MBGN was Agbani Darego, who eventually became the first black African to be crowned Miss World.

The first runner-up to be crowned was Miss Taraba State, Olutosin Araromi she will also represent Nigeria at the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition in Seoul, South Korea.

The 2nd runner up was Pamela Ifejoku, Miss Abuja. She will represent Nigeria at Miss ECOWAS contest.

Miss Edo Akeelah Aminu emerged third runner up. Fourth Runner up was Becky Ogene, Miss Bayelsa.

Miss Douglas was rewarded with a brand new car as the newly crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. She defeated 36 other contestants. 

When the contestants were given a task to make a one minute video about their Pet Project if Crowned the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Nyekachi Douglas said:

"Personal hygiene is very important to our health and It plays a major role in infection prevention and control. With your help, we can significantly reduce the spread of infectious disease. As a public health researcher, I am super excited to take my work to a higher platform and serve my people."

Congratulations to her. We hope she will make Nigeria proud in London and become Miss World. 

She danced Zanku to celebrate her victory.
