Dejan Lovren has left Liverpool for Zenit St. Petersburg for a fee of around £11m.

The Croatian signed a deal with the Russian side following a six-year spell at Anfield after making 185 appearances.

Lovren’s playing time for Liverpool has been limited following Joe Gomez's admirable partnership Van Dijk with Joel Matip preferred next in central defense been limited to 15 appearances in all competitions.

The 31-year old won the Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, and the Premier League with the Anfield Cup.

Liverpool revealed the news on Twitter and said: "We can confirm Lovren has joined Zenit Saint Petersburg on a permanent transfer.

 

 

"Everyone at the Reds would like to thank Dejan for his brilliant contribution over the years and wish him all the very best in his new challenge".
