It will take a late decision from Jurgen Klopp on whether Jordan Henderson would be featured in the Reds Premier League opener.

The Reds skipper was hurt in the final stages of the champions’ 3-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion last season and is due to return at the start of the new campaign.

Liverpool will welcome newly-promoted Leeds United at Anfield tomorrow as they begin the Premier League title defense.

The Reds are unbeaten in their opening league fixture over the past seven seasons, winning six times.

When asked whether the 30-year old assistant captain of the Three Lions plus Shaqiri would be available for selection in a prematch, the manager said, “They are all in training pretty much, all of them.

"So we will make late decisions about that, but it looks rather promising than not.

“But we have in the moment a lot of players available, here in training. They all came back now, so not all of them will be involved even if they could be involved, that’s the situation.”

Leeds are without injured pair Gaetano Berardi and Adam Forshaw as new signings Rodrigo and Robin Koch have returned from international duty fully fit for their debuts.
