The statue of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr is a must-see when you visit Liverpool.

The legacy of The Beatles is seen in every street corner in a city that lives and breathes music - and football.

Atletico Madrid are on Merseyside for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with the current holders.

Jurgen Klopp's side are the best team in Europe, having reached back-to-back finals, lifting the European Cup for the sixth time and running away with the Premier League in the current campaign.

Their last visit to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano wasn't as enjoyable as their only one before that as Saul Niguez made sure Diego Simeone's men took a lead to Anfield.

A lesson from the past

Los Rojiblancos are in a similar situation to the one they faced in the 2015/16 semi-finals when they took a 1-0 advantage to Germany in their tie with Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola's footballing machine weren't able to get a result that night as Simeone's team progressed to the final in Milan.

However, this Liverpool outfit are different. They've won 19 and drawn two of their last 21 home games, scoring 54 and conceding 22.

Atletico will be looking to learn from the lesson they learned in Turin last season where they were on the wrong side of a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired comeback.

Tale of two goalkeepers

Alisson Becker has been ruled out of this match with injury, leaving Adrian San Miguel to guard the Liverpool goal in front of the Kop.

Up the other end will be Jan Oblak, who will have to face Mohamed SalahSadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, although he's already kept a clean sheet against them before.
