Liverpool must pay £25m to secure the services of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich, reports the Bild.

The Bavarian have dropped that the Spaniard would be allowed to leave if an offer of that region is received.

The 29-year old earlier rejected a new deal to stay at the Allianz Arena and reports have linked him to the Premier League champions before the end of the season after the player and Merseyside club have already agreed to the terms of the contract, leaving the two clubs to negotiate a transfer fee.

The Reds were reported to have offered £18m for Thiago but Bayern rejected the offer and asked Liverpool to up the amount; expecting a double figure of the former.

With Thiago’s current contract set to expire next season, Klopp would prefer signing the attacking midfielder at a low price having already missed out on the services of Timo Werner to Chelsea after failing to activate his £52m release clause in such a time where coronavirus has affected the finances of clubs.

Liverpool will require the signings of a few players in order to defend their title next season and compete strongly in Europe.
