Adam Lallana will extend his contract with Liverpool until the end of the season.

The former Southampton player’s short-term deal will enable him to stay at Anfield and be part of the Reds title coronation.

The Premier League will restart on June 17, 2020, and Liverpool will kick off in the Merseyside derby on June 21 after amassing 87 out of a possible 92 in 29 games this season.

Lallana is out of contract at the end of the season and with his career laden with injuries, Liverpool is willing to let him go, having featured in 15 games so far in the current season.

He is free to negotiate with any other club and even sign a pre-contract agreement if a possible deal can be reached.

Brendan Rodgers is monitoring the activities of the Liverpool midfielder and is in need of his former player’s service to boost his squad for next season.

The prospect of offering the English International Champions League football at the King Power Stadium is an incentive to convince him to sign for Leicester City.
