The Captain for the Black Stars of Ghana, Andre Dede Ayew has disclosed that Coach Kwesi Appiah`s words convinced him to stay at Swansea City after failing to append his signature for the clubs who were chasing to sign him during the European Summer Transfer Window.

Andre Ayew, 29, spoke with Coach Kwesi Appiah before finalizing to stay at Swansea City and he did not want to any decision that will affect his chances for playing for the national team which is very important to him.

Speaking with BBC, The Ghana skipper said; "He [Kwesi Appiah] said: 'It's a very good league and if that's your decision I am okay as long as you are fit and you do what you have always done with the national team’,”

"That was important because the national team is very, very important for me.

He added; "I have always represented my country with a lot of honour and a lot of pride. I am very proud of where I am from and of what any Ghanaian is doing. We have always tried to raise the flag really high."

Ayew has scored 15 goals for Ghana in 84 appearances since making his debut in 2007.
