Kurt Okraku is the New Ghana Football Association President after George Afriyie Concede Defeat

Mr. George Afriyie has conceded defeat to Kurt Okraku in the ongoing Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential elections.

The declaration of the second round results witnessed none of the three candidates unable to record the minimum number of 60 votes.

Kurt Okraku recorded 59 votes to 44 in the first round and George Afriyie pulled 43 votes to 40. Nana Yaw Amponsah`s vote decreased from 27 votes to 16 in the second round.

As the Electoral Commission was about to commence a third round of the elections, George Afriyie took the stage and acknowledged Kurt Okraku as the winner.

“I am a unifier, I am a team player and I work for football in the interest of football. I concede defeat and I congratulate my brother, Kurt E. Okraku for the win,” he announced.

This makes Mr. Kurt Okraku the new GFA president and the successor of Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi.

Kurt is the 24th man to lead Ghana Football since its inception in 1957
