Luis Suarez has been told by Barcelona that his contract will not be renewed when it finishes.

The Uruguayan has a year left on his current contract with an option for a further season if he plays a certain number of matches in the 2020/21 campaign.

Catalan radio station RAC1 has reported that Barca's new coach, Ronald Koeman has communicated to the former Liverpool talisman in a meeting that he is not part of his plans.

The information signals that the 33-year old’s playing days at the Camp Nou is heading towards an abrupt end although the player feels there is much to play for under the guidance of the new manager.

Suarez is required to find a new club ahead of next season as he has already been linked with Manchester United and his former, Ajax.

Injuries have played a major part in the Uruguayan season in Spain, as his fitness concern is nothing to write home about.
