Award-winning Ghanaian artiste, Luigi Maclean, has leaped to the defense of Joe Mettle by pointing out that his colleague artiste has songs with original lyrics.

Patience Nyarko labeled Joe Mettle as an Impostor who cannot write his own songs stating that Joe Mettle can only remix songs from Pentecost and Methodist origins.

Luigi Maclean, who was nominated for the Best Male Vocalist at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), refuted the allegations on Joe Mettle's behalf, revealing that his friend also writes songs.

He subtly pointed out that Patience Nyarko might have forgotten that it is God's place to make one great. The always pristinely dressed musician made his thoughts in an interview with Prince Benjamin on the Class Drive on Class91.3FM saying, "There are times even at rehearsal he gets songs [Inspiration for music] and we go through them.

"At a point, there might be something that is maybe hitting, it hits. There’s been moments like that, where you get a hook or one line that just sticks. Like it stays on and on.

“Countless times, at rehearsals stuff like that, has happened and then maybe probably we go over and over the same thing at rehearsal, maybe the following week he comes with a full set, like a full song out of that hook. I mean there’ve been countless times.”

The musician, who was featured on Joe Mettle’s award-winning song titled ‘Bo No Ni’ advised Patience Nyarko to wait for her time and accept things as they are because it is God's doing.

“If God hasn’t allowed you to be great, you can never be great. So I believe that first, it’s from God’s own purpose to make him great, to make his name great. So that’s God. I think another that also makes him very likable is how humble he is. He’s quite down to earth. He’s quite relatable like everyone can relate to him. So I think God and his humility.”
