James Maddison has extended his stay at the King Power Stadium according to Goal.

The new contract will keep him at Leicester City until 2024 with his current yet to finish in 2023. The English International was a strong admirer of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the coronavirus break and as he was heavily linked to joining the Red Devils after the league campaign.

Lengthening his contract stalled due to his wage demand but an agreement has put him level with Jamie Vardy, who is among the highest earners in the club in a £110,000-a-week contract.

Maddison has been injured for weeks after aggravating a hip injury during his super-sub showing at Everton. He missed the final six of the Foxes Premier League matches including the crucial final against Manchester United.

“This is a player who I have huge admiration for. He wants to take the game by the scruff of the neck," Brendan said following his injury.

The Foxes will compete in the Europa after losing their Champions League spot and Brendan Rodgers wants to assemble the best of his squad for the project.
