Frank Leboeuf has counseled Kalidou Koulibaly to rebuff Manchester United if he wants to win titles and make a name for himself in world football.

The 1998 FIFA World Cup Winner believes Liverpool is the suitable team for the Senegalese in the Premier League and his partnership with Virgil Van Dijk would be material in association football. He also mentioned PSG as also a probable team that can accommodate the 28-year-old.

"I will never ask him to go to Manchester United for many reasons," Leboeuf told ESPN. "I want him to win some stuff and I think Manchester United is not the club that they used to be and they're not ready to win stuff.

"I think Liverpool would be a good fit with [Virgil] van Dijk, that would be fantastic. Paris Saint-Germain as well with Marquinhos, there would be two great central defenders.

Manchester United has long been linked with a move for the African star but have been dormant since the coronavirus halted sporting events giving room for their rivals to occupy the news headlines.

The Senegalese was sought by Paris Saint Germain but Le10Sport reported that the French team has dropped interest, which put Jurgen Klopp’s side in an improved position to sign the Napoli player.

Leboeuf also included that Chelsea will also be a better alternative if Frank Lampard wants to overhaul his defensive setup of Tomori, Rudiger, and Zuma.

"I think Chelsea will need a player like that. I don't know if Koulibaly will be interested, but even if they have two very good central defenders, Koulibaly I think belongs to another level and would fit very well."
