I had Issues with Atta Mills Gov’t over ‘Corruption’ – Rawlings

Former President Jerry John Rawlings says he had reservations about the past Atta Mills’ government over matters relating to corruption and human rights abuse.

Rawlings made these remarks via a twitter post, after visiting the final resting place the late President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, in commemoration of his eighth anniversary of death.

Rawlings said despite the differences in previously held views, he prays the late President rests in peace.

In a Twitter post, he said:

“This morning, I visited the resting place of the late President Atta Mills to pay my respects. I had differences and misgivings over his Presidency on matters related to serious cases of corruption and killings in the administration before his [before his demise]".

On Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at about 2:15 p.m., the entire world was thrown into a state of mourning. The death was reported of his President John Evans Atta Mills.

This was the first time a sitting president of the Republic of Ghana passed on. He was a great man.
