The Municipal Chief Executive of Kwabre East, Hon. Osei Assibey Bonsu has updated that over 60km road projects were awarded in his regime under the auspices of the Member of Parliament of the constituency, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah.

He addressed that most of them are in their various stages of completion and the Assembly will pursue them to ensure ‘massive improvement and better management of road infrastructures in the Municipality.’

 

 

Residents in the Kwabre East Municipality have made series of complaints and protested against the New Patriotic Party government for their lack of concern towards their needs as citizens basing their entitlements on the ‘rootless promises’ made by the incumbent government for the sake of power.

At the sessional address delivered by the MCE at the first ordinary meeting of the first session of the 8th Assembly of the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at the Municipal Assembly Hall at Mamponteng, Hon. Osei Assibey Bonsu addressed that the bad road challenges moaned by inhabitants will soon be resolved.

 

 

“My administration inherited poor road infrastructure in almost every part of the municipality resulting in most communities threatening to embark on demonstration.

“In spite of the huge road infrastructure, deficit inherited, I am glad to inform you that management in collaboration with the Hon. Member of Parliament and other key stakeholders lobbied for over 60km road projects which have been awarded and are at various stages of completion,” added.

The projects includes the 5.5km bitumen surfacing of Mamponteng Township Roads which is ongoing, the 5.6km bitumen surfacing of Asonomaso Nkwanta Safo Kasaam road ongoing, 6.5 bitumen surfacing of Asonomaso Nkwanta –Wonoo-Krobo Road ongoing, the 5.5km bitumen surfacing of Wonoo Township road ongoing, the 3.6km bitumen surfacing of Mamponteng Abrade awarded, the 3km bitumen surfacing of Fawoade Bampenase Road which is completed, the ongoing bitumen surfacing of Fawoade Kenyasi road, the Awarded bitumen Kenyasi town roads and the 5.6km of Bitumen surfacing of Krobo Antoa Road which is also ongoing.

 

 

He asserted that ‘approval has also been given for the upgrading of the of the Airport roundabout-Kenyasi-Antoa-Abirem-Bonwire-Juaben junction which was formally under feeder roads but has now been upgraded to Highways.

Two projects; the Ahodwo Wadie Adwumakase Dumanafo Mamponteng road and Brofoyedru, Bosore-Wadie Adwumakase Aboaso Road have also received attention to be put in a better shape soon.
