Gospel musician, Great Ampong has admitted that the Ghanaian music industry has been left behind by the digital marketing age.

According to him, modern Ghanaian musicians struggle nowadays because they cannot fully harness the advantages provided by digital systems in the music market.

The 'Yi Mi Aten' hitmaker made known how music sales have gone down since the introduction of modern digital systems, the likes of pen drives, CDs, and cassettes.

He did not offer an explanation for why he has not been seen in the music for a while since his coronavirus jingle, the "Gyae Su" hitmaker however stressed the need to fully understand the digital marketing systems to maximize sales.

Speaking To Fifi Pratt in an interview on Accra based Kingdom Plus FM's Afro Joint, Great Ampong said: “Things hasn’t been the same since the digital system was introduced for some of us, cassette and CD’s were really helpful until digital came to take over the music scene which is a big challenge to most of us because we do not have ideas about it…so we hardly get money in terms of selling our music nowadays unless you are booked for a show. The use of pen drive is also another factor.”
