Liverpool’s privileged captain, Jordan Henderson has acknowledged the impact of Steven Gerard in his life by dedicating the Premier League title to the former.

He referred that his hard work even after his retirement has played a key role in ending the elite trophy drought in English football.

The Rangers manager was a successful leader missing out on the domestic trophy in his entire life as a Liverpool player. He took Liverpool close in 2014 only to be disappointed in the dying times after his slip lost it to Manchester City in a season of Suarez's magic under Brendan Rodgers.

After six years of intensive work by Jurgen Klopp, employed after his spell at Dortmund, the Reds have their hands on the title despite seven more games to play.

“The manager mentioned it… this is not only for us as players and the fans, but it is also for players like Stevie and also Kenny [Dalglish] who mean so much to this football club,” Henderson said.

“I know how much it would mean to Stevie to win the Premier League title, he is so happy for us to be able to do that. I was devastated in 2014 that we couldn’t get over the line for him, but I know that he will be so happy and so proud of this team to be able to bring the Premier League trophy to Liverpool.

Henderson joined Liverpool for an undisclosed fee thought to be between £16 and £20 million in June 2011 making his debut a 1–1 draw against his former club Sunderland. Criticisms entwined his days as a player due to below pal performances as a result of injuries.

Along his career, when he took over as an LFC captain, he lacked playing time until Jurgen Klopp’s tenure defined his very role in the club.

“And, yes, this one is quite personal for me and, definitely, to do it for him is quite big. When I first took over the role of captaincy, when people might have doubted me and criticised me as a person, I always said no one will replace Steven Gerrard at this football club. No matter what captains or teams win. No one will ever replace him.

“It wasn’t even in my mind when I took over the captaincy to replace him. It was just to do the best I could, the best for this football club and this team and that is all I ever try to do.

“In terms of Steven Gerrard, no one will ever replace him.”

Jordan Henderson now boasts of a Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, and Premier League trophy and medal. He will go into the history books as one of the successful captains ever to grace the Anfield pitch with more years ahead of him to win more accolades to define the club.
