Netherlands revived from a goal down in the first half to beat Germany on Friday night at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg by 4-1 in their Group C EURO 2020 qualifiers.

Goals from Frenkie De Jong, Donyell Malen, Georginio Wijnaldum and an own goal from Jonathan Tah gave the Oranjes win after Serge Gnabry had found the net in the 90-minute.

The Oranjes controlled most of the games with decisive passes from the backline. Captain Virgil Van Dijk and Matthijs De Ligt detected spaces and played their passes to find the three upfront, Depay, Quincy-Promes and Ryan Babel but the German defense were too strong to let a slip in the early minutes.

Babel in the 7-minute sneaked a pass meant for Tah. He drove from the left towards the center half on a counter. He played Depay through on the right as he looked for space for a hit. Manuel Neur did well to prevent the ball from falling at the back of the net.

Germany quickly responded with a goal in the 9-minute. Their first attack of the night yielded the opener through Gnabry.

A long ball was waved from the German backline to find Klosterman. He found himself behind the Oranje defense and went for the opener but his weak effort was beaten away by Cillessen. The ball fell to Gnabry and he turned it home past Van Dijk on the line from 12-yards out with his right foot.

The Dutch continued enjoying play as the German’s waited to put them on the counter. Cillessen mysterious saves kept them in the game. Sule and Tah kept giving away passes to Babel and Depay but the forwards were too dull to punish them.

Ronald Koeman subbed off Marten De Roon for Donyell Malen as Davy Propper replaced Denzel Dumfries.

The German’s came in stronger in the second half. Two quick saves from De Ligt and Van Dijk denied them a second in the opening minutes.

Kroos surged forward and located Schulz on the right inside the Netherlands half. He found space and hit ball across post but Van Dijk was there to clear the danger from the connect. The Oranjes contained the boys in white in their own half and sought for the equalizer.

De Jong provided the leveler in the 59-minute. Babel initiated a pass down on the left and centered, hopeful for De Jong. His pass evaded two Germany defenders and found the Barca man whose first touch beat Neuer to the back of the net.

Tah scored an own goal to put the visitors ahead in the 68-minute. Van Dijk bulleted header from a corner was beaten away by Neuer, but Depay played It back into the box for Babel. His flick towards goal somehow missed as Tah's touch on the ball trickled into the net.

Germany responded with a penalty two minutes later. De Ligt’s wonderful tackle inside the yard sent ball flying in the sky. The Juventus man unaware had the ball struck his hand as referee awarded a penalty for the home side. Kroos made no mistake from the spot and levelled the scores once again.

Malen scored his debut goal in the 80-minute from Wijnaldum’s intelligent assist. Memphis Depay slipped through Wijnaldum on the left side of the box. He unselfishly flicked the ball square for the Arsenal Youth player to tap the ball into the net.

Wijnaldum wounded the Germans in one-minute of additional time. Depay was played in a through pass from a counter attack. He poured forward and beautifully read Wijnaldum running into space. A superb low cross was instructed towards the Liverpool man to strike decently to bury Low's Low side.
