Liverpool kept their unbeaten home record and became the first club to clinch the Premier League with 31 wins after a 5-3 victory over Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds scintillating victory leaves Chelsea with work still to do in the race for Champions League qualification in their next game against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

A thunderbolt from Naby Keita rifled the champions ahead on their big night after Chelsea enjoyed possession from the start of the game.

Willian had his pocket picked by Keita and he drove into a huge gap in front of the Chelsea defense before unleashing a stunning effort that flashed off the underside of the bar.

Liverpool took over the game with the trusting controls and almost doubled their lead eight minutes later but Salah's failure to square Mane early allowed Rudiger to push the ball out into a corner.

Mane was brought down distance from the penalty kick and a free-kick was awarded - a decision which Frank Lampard argued with Klopp on the bench as purposeful.

Alexander Arnold repeated the Crystal Palace take as he struck towards the same angle in the 38-minute to put the Reds ahead by two goals, increasing Chelsea’s goals conceded to 51.

Chelsea were helpless as the first half proceeded and became more vulnerable following Wijnaldum’s third. Their defense was exposed before Alexander-Arnold whipped a corner into the area. Chelsea's defense failed to deal with it and the ball bobbled Jorginho’s hand twice before falling in front of Gini Wijnaldum. He quickly got into the act and with a thumping volley under the roof of the net, he converted his on the night.

Giroud scored a consolation at injury time to end the first half.

10 minutes into the second half saw Roberto Firmino meet Trent’s header to score his first Anfield goal of the season. The assist was the right back’s 13th of the season, breaking his own record made last year with 12.

Lampard made three changes, Abraham, Pulisic, and Hudson-Odoi came on, replacing Giroud, Willian, and Mount in the 59-minute.

The Liverpool defense found it tough to tame Pulisic after making his presence known through an assist for Tammy Abraham to score.

The American slalomed through the Liverpool defense and left Alexander-Arnold and Gomez trailing in his wake, before bypassing Van Dijk with a brilliantly-weighted cross that Tammy Abraham stroked home.

He finally scored on the night having received a long ball from Hudson-Odoi, he turned and lashed a fine effort into the top right corner from 10 yards out, reducing the deficit to one.

Chamberlain added the fifth for the Reds to win the goal by 5-3 at Anfield.
