EPL Matchday 34: Leicester secure a point to keep European dream alive; Arsenal 1 - 1 Leicester
Jamie Vardy of Leicester City grabs a point for his side with five minutes remaining

Jamie Vardy’s close-range slide earned the Foxes a point to keep European alive at the Emirates on Tuesday night.

Arsenal made two changes from the side that beat Wolves 2-0 at the weekend - Cedric Soares and Eddie Nketiah dropped out, with the latter starting on the bench.

Neither Ben Chilwell nor James Maddison was fit for Leicester as Brendan Rodgers made one change with the injured left-back being replaced by Wolves loanee Ryan Bennett.

Aubameyang opened the scores in the 21-minute after a wonderful initial pass was initiated from Ceballos to pick out Saka on the right-hand side with Soyuncu sliding on the wet surface and unable to stop the pass.

The 19-year old then drove down the right before squaring for the run of Aubameyang, who tapped home past Schmeichel. It was a sluggish moment from the Leicester defense and Arsenal have carved them open.

The Gunners pressed Leicester for a second but their finishing was not decent to progress them further.

Schmeichel pulled a huge save for Leicester to deny Arsenal a second - six minutes to end the first half proceedings following a wonderful lofted cross from Bellerin to pick out Lacazette inside the area. He flew his head at the delivery, sending it goalwards, but it went straight at the goalkeeper.

Martinez was put in a real test in the 56-minute as he came to rescue the Gunners from conceding. Jamie Vardy drove down the right and squared the ball in for the waiting Iheanacho. He hit with a first-time volley, but the goalkeeper got down low to make a good save.

Five minutes after the drink break, Nketiah was shown the exit with a red card after catching Justin on the knee with a raised foot and which was deemed as serious foul play.

The pressing intensified as the ball was dominated at the Gunners half of the field but defenders kept denying the efforts of the Foxes.

Jamie Vardy leveled the scores in the 84-minute to take his goal tally to 22. The ball came in from the right and there was a possible touch from Perez before it reached Vardy at the back post. VAR looked into it but goal stood.

After eight minutes of injury time, the game ended one all for both sides.

The Gunners stay seventh, on 50 points, while Leicester have dropped to fourth on 59, a point behind Chelsea.
