Manchester United extended their unbeaten run to eight Premier League matches with a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Bruno Fernandes had already hit a post with a well-struck shot before Mason Greenwood's smart low finish on 16 minutes.

The Portuguese since his debut in February has been directly involved in more goals in all competitions than any other Premier League player scoring six goals and assisting four assists.

Paul Pogba then set up Fernandes, whose deflected shot found the corner to make it 2-0 on 29 minutes, during a first-half dominated by the visitors.

The Seagulls pushed on after the break only for a lightning counterattack, started by Nemanja Matic, to end with Greenwood's cross being volleyed in by the imperious Fernandes.

Aaron Connolly and Neal Maupay then forced fine saves from David De Gea, but the hosts could find no reply.

United have moved above Wolves on goal difference in the Premier League table and are just three points behind Chelsea and four shy of Leicester.

Brighton are 15th, on 33, six above the relegation zone.
