Manchester United have secured their second win of the season at Old Trafford against Leicester City.

David De Gea kept his second clean sheet in three home Premier league games for the Red Devils to ruin Leicester's unbeaten run.

Marcus Rashford converted an earlier penalty to inflict a first defeat for Brendan Rodgers side. Aaron Wan-Bissaka started the game after an injury scare which prevented his participation in the EURO 2020 qualifiers with England. Nemanja Matic came in for injured Paul Pogba, and Juan Mata started with Andreas Pereira in midfield behind Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United were awarded a penalty in the early minutes of the game after Rashford was fouled in the box by Soyuncu. The Video Assistant Referee confirmed after it was called to look into the challenge.

United settled and controlled the game with confidence. They knocked Leicester’s door for a second but the Foxes defense were composed to let another slip off.

Leicester threatened United in the 25-minute through Choudhury. McTominay lost ball to the England star as Leicester initiated an attack. Tieleman looked to slip in Gray but Young slided brilliantly to win the ball.

The Foxes came close to levelling the scores through Chilwell. Maguire misdirected Maddison corner towards Chilwell on the edge of the box. He controlled beauty on his chest and volleyed with his left. David De Gea was quick to tip it over.

Leicester City in the second half pressed the Reds and camped them in the final third. Pereira got free at the right by line but Maguire dispossessed him via a penalty shout out. The referee awarded a corner but United eventually cleared the danger.

Rashford was denied a second by the cross bar 30-yards from a free kick after Daniel James was brought down by Maddison on the edge of the box. Schmeichel stood still and watched the bar shake.

The game ended after additional time.
