Liverpool earned a comeback 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur to stay six points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

The win increased Spurs away loss to eight against the Red meaning, Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League games anytime they concede the first goal at Anfield winning each of the last six.

Harry Kane got the visitors in the game as early as the first minute.

Lovren blocked son Heung-Min’s attempted right-footed shot from outside the box after the Spurs forward drifted from the left behind the Liverpool yard.

The ball took a rebound from the pole towards Kane who took a bow and headed from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner beating Alisson Becker in post.

Liverpool reorganized and dominated possession hitting the visitors with long balls from the laterals towards Mane and Salah. Spurs defense looked instable as they struggled to hold the pressure from the Reds.

Firmino in the 27-minute set up Salah for a shot. The Egyptian darted inside and fired a curled effort towards the top right corner as Gazzaniga parried it. It went as far as Firmino but the Spurs keeper stopped it again at his near post.

Liverpool intensified their play and kept hitting the long shots from behind the box. Gazzaniga was at it again when Robertson skipped past Winks and set up Alexander Arnold for a powerful range effort. The Spurs keeper was there to meet the ball.

Sissoko and Rose received a yellow card for foul play.

Liverpool cancelled Spurs lead through Captain Jordan Henderson in the 52-minute. The captain started the move with a cross, which Spurs dealt with, but Fabinho dunked it back into the box and Rose misjudged his clearance. Henderson got in and volleyed the ball into the ground, which slapped into the far corner.

Ndombele was introduced for Harry Winks as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold was shown a yellow card for foul on Kane. Liverpool was rewarded a penalty after Mane was fouled in the box by Aurier. The Spurs defender was on a one-on-one foot but lost the ball to Mane. An attempt to take a dig at the ball in the box saw his clearance clap Mane down in the box.

Salah stepped up and hit his shot to the right of Gazzaniga who rooted the spot and did not move in the 75-minute.

James Milner replaced Wijnaldum but the Spurs pressing in the last 10 minutes could not break the Liverpool defense for the equalizer.

2-1 was the scoreline as the Reds made it 12 Anfield wins in a row to extend their lead at the top of the table to six points. Spurs are 11 on the table with 12 points.
